I think the part that helped most was starting earlier than I wanted to.

Whenever I put something off, I imagine I’m saving energy, but it usually has the opposite effect because the unfinished thing sits in the background all day. Once I finally begin, it turns out to be much less complicated than I built up in my head.

I’d probably keep the plan loose and aim for steady progress instead of trying to do everything perfectly at once. A small start usually gives me enough momentum to keep going, and then I don’t have to depend on feeling especially motivated. That has been more reliable for me than waiting for the ideal mood.
