  • “Power” creator and New England native Courtney A. Kemp heads to Netflix with the premiere of her new show “Nemesis.”

  • “John of John” author Douglas Stuart chats with “Eva Moves the Furniture” author Margot Livesey at the Brattle Theatre.

  • Director-writer Aleshea Harris’s Southern Gothic neo-noir “Is God Is” arrives in theaters this weekend.

Friday

  • Taylor Sheridan’s latest “Yellowstone” spinoff series “Dutton Ranch” debuts on Paramount+.

  • “Abbott Elementary” star Lisa Ann Walter drops her new comedy special “It Was an Accident” on Hulu.

  • Mark Frost, author of “The Yankee Sphinx: An FDR Novel,” chats with Bob Donovan at Harvard Book Store.

Saturday

  • See Man On Land, Clear Audience, and more acts for free when the Roslindale Jazz Festival takes over Adams Park and Birch Street Plaza.

  • Electronic and rap artist Ashnikko performs tracks off her album “Smoochies” at Roadrunner.

Sunday

  • Singer-songwriter Bilmuri plays MGM Music Hall at Fenway.

  • The annual Herring Fest returns to Watertown, with this year’s celebration featuring the premiere of “River Run,” a new mural by Sophy Tuttle.




Ongoing

  • Presented by Lyric Stage Boston, “Something Rotten!” continues its run through June 7.

  • The exhibition “Framing Nature: Gardens and the Imagination” is on display at the MFA through June 28.

Last chance

  • The Boston Fringe comedy festival wraps up its stay around Somerville’s Davis Square on Sunday.
