Hey there, HR pros. If the thought of group assignments fills you with dread, consider the fact that a group of five Founding Fathers were given mere weeks to submit a draft of the Declaration of Independence right around this time 250 years ago. It was subsequently edited within an inch of its life by the Continental Congress.

Benjamin Franklin, who knew the pain of the editing process, declined to take the lead on the draft. (That job went to Thomas Jefferson.)

Centuries later, the Declaration’s staying power may suggest group feedback does have some merits.
