I think the trailhead we used last time would work perfectly for the weekend. I checked the weather forecast and it looks clear, so we should be good with just the standard rain jackets in case. I am planning to bring the new portable stove I just picked up to test it out. Let me know if you want me to handle the meal prep for Saturday night. I can also coordinate with Mark about the campsite reservation. We should aim to get there by mid-morning to secure a good spot near the water source. Remember to pack the bear canisters this time—the ranger station mentioned increased activity in that area. I will bring extra fuel canisters just in case. Let me know what gear you are bringing so we do not double up on everything. I think between the two of us, we have enough tents and sleeping bags for everyone. Also, I will grab the map from the ranger station when we arrive, even though I have the GPS tracks downloaded.

Yes, I finished reading that historical novel you recommended. I was surprised by how much I enjoyed the detailed descriptions of the period. The author really put a lot of research into the daily lives of the characters, and it made the setting feel very immersive. I found the middle section a bit slow, but the last hundred pages more than made up for it. I am thinking of picking up another book by the same author to see if the pacing is similar or if it was just this particular story. Have you read any of their other works? I would be interested to hear if you have any other recommendations in that genre, especially ones with strong character development. I usually prefer faster-paced plots, but this one was a good change of pace. Let me know what you think about the ending—I was a bit conflicted about the main character's final decision.
