I checked the trail map and the blue route looks like the best option for our group. It is about six miles with moderate elevation and there are several scenic overlooks along the way. The weather should cooperate as the forecast shows sunshine with highs around seventy. We should start early to avoid the afternoon heat. I suggest we meet at the parking lot by seven thirty. There is a coffee shop near the entrance that opens at six if anyone wants to grab something beforehand. I will bring a first aid kit and extra water. Let me know if you need directions because the turnoff can be a bit tricky. The wildflowers should be in bloom this time of year so bring a camera if you have one. We can stop at the summit for lunch before heading back down. I think the total hike will take about four hours with breaks included.

I also wanted to ask if you have seen the new outdoor gear store that opened on main street. They have a good selection of hiking poles and hydration packs. We could stop by on Friday evening to browse if you are interested. Let me know what you think about the timing for Saturday.

I tried that slow cooker recipe you sent last week and it turned out really well. I adjusted the seasoning a bit because I prefer things on the milder side. The cooking time was about six hours on low which worked perfectly for a Sunday afternoon. I served it with steamed vegetables on the side. Next time I might add a bit more garlic and see how that changes the flavor profile. The leftovers kept well in the refrigerator for a couple of days. I also experimented with a different type of broth than what the recipe called for and it still came out fine. Let me know if you have any other suggestions for variations because I plan to make it again soon. I found that letting it rest for about ten minutes before serving helped the texture quite a bit.

I also wanted to mention that I found a good farmers market on the east side of town that has fresh herbs and produce every Saturday morning. The prices are reasonable and the selection is better than the grocery store. I picked up some fresh basil and tomatoes there last weekend and they were excellent quality. Let me know if you would like to go together sometime.
