The Weekly Roar
Monday, June 8, 2026
Congratulations to Our Strings and Band Students!
Our talented student musicians were in the spotlight last week as they presented their Spring Concerts. Chorus performed on Monday (see last week's Weekly Roar for photos), and Wednesday featured concerts by our Strings and Band students. Our youngest musicians, 4th grade Strings students, kicked off the evening, followed by 5th and 6th grade Strings students and 5th and 6th grade Band students. Check out the photos below and visit our Facebook and Instagram for more. We are so proud of all of our talented musicians!

Friday Field Day Fun!
Last Friday, fun, fitness, and teamwork were in the spotlight as all of our students participated in Field Day, rotating through stations that challenged different physical skills. Our 6th graders did a great job leading the different stations, guided by parent volunteers and staff members. Special thanks to our awesome P. E. teachers, Ms. K and Mr. P, who put the event together and to everyone who volunteered and donated supplies! Watch our social media pages for more pictures this week.

News & Notes
From the Shelves of the Lane Library: Please Return All Library Books ASAP!
Dear Lane Readers,
All library books should have been returned last Wednesday. Weekly notices will continue to be sent until the end of the school year for materials that are still checked out.
Please do your best to look for and return all books in good condition! It is also possible that books have been sent to school but have not yet made it to the library. If this is the case, apologies in advance for the crossed communication.
As a reminder, there are no fines for overdue books, however families are expected to pay the replacement cost for lost or damaged books.
Contact Sue Chozick, Librarian (schozick@fcps.edu), with any questions.
