The SACGM is an expert committee that provides independent scientific advice to UK regulators (HSE, Defra and devolved governments) on the human and environmental risks of contained use of genetically modified organisms (GMOs).
The committee is looking for leading academics, professionals, or researchers in an area of expertise aligned to genetic modification of GMOs. Members provide advice on risk assessments, policy development and are involved in developing GMO related guidance.
What’s involved?
- 3-year appointment (extendable)
- 2 to 3 meetings per year (mostly online)
- approx. 4 to 8 days commitment annually, depending on the role
- unpaid, with travel and subsistence expenses covered
