Preparing Your Loan Information

You must include information about your unpaid student loan debt to complete your Substance Use Disorder Treatment and Recovery Loan Repayment Program (STAR LRP) application. Don't delay - the application deadline is Tuesday, June 23 at 7:30 p.m. ET.

Eligible educational loans include education or training loans related to employment in substance use disorder (SUD) treatment, Federal nursing student loans, Federal Direct Loans, and Federal Perkins Loans. For a complete list of eligible and ineligible loans, review pages 9-10 of the Application and Program Guidance.

Loan Documentation Tips

There are two loan categories – federal and private/commercial. You may submit your loan information either electronically (federal only) or manually.

For federal loans, you can import your loans electronically in the application using your login information from your Federal Student Aid account.

For all other private/commercial loans, you must submit official documents from your lender.

Account Statements must include:
- Current balance (principle and interest)
- Current interest rate
Disbursement Reports must include:
- Type of loan
- Original loan date
- Original loan amount
- Consolidation dates
