Hey, just got back from that trip to the mountains. The weather was surprisingly clear for this time of year. We did the loop trail you mentioned, the one that goes past the old fire lookout. It was a bit overgrown in sections, but nothing unmanageable. I was telling Mark about that trail where we saw the qNQNJmoWMPDc deer last fall, he wants to go next month. The gear you recommended was perfect, especially the boots. My feet didn't hurt once, which is basically a miracle. We also tried that new camping stove, the one that boils water in under two minutes. Totally worth the weight. Anyway, just wanted to say thanks for the tips. We're planning another trip in a few weeks, maybe somewhere with less elevation gain. I'll let you know how it goes. Hope you're doing well. Let's catch up properly soon.

I finally tried making that sourdough recipe you sent over. It turned out way better than I expected, honestly. The crust was super crusty and the inside was nice and chewy. I used a mix of bread flour and whole wheat, which gave it a slightly nutty flavor. I forgot to score it deep enough, so it burst a little on the side, but it still looked pretty good. My kitchen was a complete floury mess afterwards, but it was worth it. I'm thinking of trying a cinnamon raisin version next weekend. I also finally got around to organizing my spice rack. I bought those little magnetic tins for the fridge. It's so much easier to find things now. I used to spend ages digging through the cupboard. Anyway, let me know if you want a loaf next time I bake. It's nice to have a hobby that produces something edible.
