I was thinking we could have the get-together at my place next Saturday around 3 pm. I have already checked with the neighbors about parking and there should be enough space for everyone. My sister mentioned she would bring her potato salad and Tom said he could handle the grill if we need it. I am planning to set up some tables in the backyard since the weather forecast looks promising. Let me know if you think we should ask anyone else to bring something specific. I was also wondering if we should plan a small activity for the kids to keep them entertained. There is a park nearby we could walk to if they get restless. I will send out a proper invitation later this week once we finalize the details.

I checked on the garden situation and it turns out we need to amend the soil before planting anything new this season. The soil test showed it is a bit too acidic for what we wanted to grow. I found a local supplier that carries the type of compost we need and they can deliver next Tuesday if we order by Friday. The roses on the east side are doing well despite the late frost we had last month. I pruned them back a bit and they are already showing new growth. For the vegetable beds I think we should stick with tomatoes and peppers since they tend to do well in this area. Let me know what you think about the plan.
