I finally took that trip to the mountains this weekend. The trail was a bit muddy from the rain the night before, but it made the forest feel alive with that fresh earthy smell. We didn't see many people, which was perfect. Just the sound of birds and the wind through the pines. I brought along that new camera I picked up, and I think I got some really good shots of the valley at sunrise. We stopped for lunch by a creek, and the water was so clear you could see every pebble at the bottom. It was a nice reminder to unplug and just breathe for a while. I'm already looking forward to going back next month, maybe try a different trailhead this time. By the way, qBPTdIk8otX2xsw I finished that book you lent me, thanks again for the recommendation! It was a perfect escape from the daily grind.

I saw your message about the garden club meeting next week. I think I'll be able to make it this time. My tomatoes are finally starting to ripen, and I have way too many zucchini to deal with. I've been experimenting with fermented hot sauce using the habaneros from the backyard. It's surprisingly easy, just salt, water, and peppers, then let it sit for a few weeks. The flavor is much more complex than anything you can buy at the store. Let me know if you want a sample. I also read that article you sent about native planting. It got me thinking about redesigning the front yard layout to require less watering. Maybe I can attract more butterflies and bees. Anyway, talk to you later!
