Hey, thanks for the note about the hiking trail we talked about last week. We finally made it out there on Saturday morning and it was absolutely worth the drive. The path was mostly shaded with a few open spots where the sun broke through the canopy. We brought plenty of water and some trail mix which really helped midway through. The elevation gain was steady but never too steep, and the view at the top overlooked the whole valley. There were wildflowers blooming along the upper ridge and we stopped several times just to take photos. A couple of trail runners passed us but otherwise it was very quiet and peaceful. We ate lunch on a flat rock near a small stream and saw a deer drinking downstream. The whole loop took us about four hours with breaks. I would definitely go again maybe in a few weeks when the leaves start changing. ocNVPdmq0u44c Let me know if you want me to send you the trail map we used.

I finally got around to trying that pasta recipe you sent me last month and it came out better than I expected. The sauce was rich but not too heavy and the fresh basil really tied everything together. I added a little extra garlic because you know how I am. We served it with a simple side salad and some crusty bread. Everyone at the table went back for seconds which is always a good sign. I think next time I might try adding some mushrooms or maybe roasted cherry tomatoes for a little sweetness. The whole thing came together in about forty minutes which made it perfect for a weeknight. Let me know if you have another go-to recipe like that one. I am building up my regular rotation and I trust your picks more than most of what I find online these days.
