Fire kills at least 11 as hundreds evacuated

Firefighters are battling a "devastating" wildfire around Los Gallardos, Almería, in southern Spain. The fire appears to have been caused by a downed power line, Andalusia's regional leader Juanma Moreno said, warning the death toll could rise significantly. The majority or even all of the victims may have been foreign nationals, local official Antonio Sanz said. Four of those killed were found trapped in their car, Sanz said, adding they are believed to be "of British origin". Nineteen people are missing and eight people are in hospital, four with serious burns and another four with minor burns and respiratory problems.
