David Zaslav, with nearly $60 million from his latest Warner Bros. Discovery stock sale burning a hole in his pocket, apparently made a stalking-horse bid to buy the Mohawk Day Camp in White Plains.

According to New Jersey federal bankruptcy-court filings that were posted last week, and which were first reported by Bloomberg Law, Zaslav’s Grandview Ventures put in a $68 million bid for the Westchester County summer camp, one of several in the Northeast owned by Simad Holdings.

In a statement on the bid, Zaslav noted his three adult children previously attended the camp, which is nearly a century old and has a reputation as a top-tier “bus camp” for white-collar Manhattan families whose kids want the camp experience without the sleeping away from Mom and Dad part. (Per one redditor, for 2025, the rate was $12,000 for an eight-week session.) Zaslav called the offer “a personal family investment that reflects our lifelong belief that summer camp can be a wonderful part of a child’s growth.”
