Hi Jalskffl,
One of the questions I get asked more than almost any other is:
"How do I improvise on bluegrass fiddle tunes?"
It's a great question... and honestly, it's one of the hardest skills in bluegrass guitar.
The mistake I see most people make is thinking they have to invent an entirely new solo from scratch.
That's not how I think about it.
In this week's lesson, I introduce a simple framework I call Melody/Lick Ping Pong.
Instead of replacing the whole tune, you'll learn how to move back and forth between the melody and the bluegrass vocabulary you already know.
It's a much more musical (and much less intimidating) way to start improvising while still staying true to the tune.
If improvisation has always felt out of reach, I think this lesson will give you a much clearer place to start.
