Telegraf 1.39 Release Notes

Telegraf 1.39 is out, headlined by a new GNMI dial-out input plugin for pulling telemetry pushed by network gear like Nokia SR OS devices. The release also adds OPCUA node discovery for dynamic server environments, Oracle SQL driver support, and more granular host metadata in the system input plugin.

Generate Synthetic Time Series Data in InfluxDB 3

Two new InfluxDB 3 plugins make it easy to start writing realistic sample data with a single trigger: the Bird Tracking Simulator generates synthetic bird telemetry with tags like species and location, while the Signal Generator produces configurable waveform data (sine, square, noise, spikes) for sensor- and metric-like use cases. Both are scheduled plugins built for testing dashboards, alerts, and edge replication without needing a live production data stream.

Why Relational Databases Fail Satellite Telemetry

Satellite teams depend on telemetry to understand systems they can't physically inspect: battery levels, temperature, signal strength, fault codes. As that telemetry volume grows, relational databases built for stable, structured records start to strain against continuous, time-ordered measurement streams.
