Is your student interested in gaming? The Virginia High School League sanctioned Esports as an official high school sport last school year and the team is forming again for 2026-2027. If your student is interested in being a part of the team - whether competitively or casually - please have them email Coach Uden at jguden@fcps.edu so they can be part of future communications.
Preseason competition starts on September 7th, though the team will meet the first week of school to begin preparations. Students who want to play competitively will be expected to attend all practices and match days - though there is some flexibility as long as students are communicating effectively. If a student wants to play casually and only attend occasionally, that's okay, too. All players, whether casual or competitive, are held to the same academic and behavioral expectations of students who play any traditional sport.
All are welcome regardless of experience!
