Dear Test,
I'm back at writing these messages for you after many months devoted and consumed by and obsessed over finishing my new book, The Robot and the Gardener (Penguin Random House).
Here's what I read as part of my morning reading routine this morning:
"War and the battlefront are not the only spheres in which proof is to be had of a spirited and fearless character: a person's bravery is no less evident in bedclothes."
Good right? It's from Seneca's great little book Why I Am a Stoic.
And I do agree with this master thinker: we do not need heroic situations for us to show our heroism.
You can reveal your bravery in the small moments of your daily life. Smiling in the face of a long commute or pushing your excellence at the end of a hard project or being the most open person in a room of grumblers.
Heroism isn't only for mountain climbers, warriors and emergency workers. It's a trait of character that you can access and then polish (to brilliance) today. In the seemingly insignificant moments of your life well lived.
