A Massachusetts State Poilce trooper was involved in a crash in Stoneham early Monday morning.

The crash happened just before 2:30 a.m. Several state police cruisers responded to the scene.

At least two other vehicles were involved, including a Honda Civic and a Toyota Camry, according to an NBC10 Boston photographer at the scene.

Sunday, we entered a heat wave as Boston’s high made it to 90 degrees for the third day in a row. Today adds another hot day to the mix but the coast may fall just short of the 90s.

It stays warm and becomes more humid Monday, with highs generally in the upper 80s to low 90s.

A few scattered showers or thunderstorms could pop up late Monday afternoon and evening, mainly away from the coast, but most of today stays dry.

The trial of Lindsay Clancy, the Duxbury mother who killed her three children is entering its third week.

Her defense attorney tells NBC10 Boston prosecutors could rest as early as Monday. Then would come the defense’s case, and among the witnesses could be a social worker who never met Lindsay Clancy.

Social media posts by Emily Thorndike, a former social worker at McLean Hospital, have caught the defense’s attention.

Severe thunderstorms caused a partial roof collapse at a building in Springfield, Massachusetts, Saturday evening, displacing 45 people.

Springfield Mayor Domenic Sarno declared a state of emergency that night as severe weather moved through the area.

Around 6:30 p.m., the Springfield Fire Department found that part of the roof of a building on Dwight Street had collapsed and a section of the building’s parapet wall had failed.

First responders were called to search for a missing person in the water at Lake Quinsigamond in Shrewsbury, Massachusetts, on Sunday.

The Shrewsbury Police Department said they were called to the lake around 3:45 p.m. for a report of a person who may be drowning near Sunset Beach.

Police and firefighters could be seen searching the lake, according to an NBC10 Boston crew on scene.

Congressional Democrats said they are investigating the Trump administration‘s efforts to deport military service members and their families after The Associated Press found more than 50 active-duty troops’ spouses and parents have been detained by immigration authorities.

In a letter sent Sunday evening to the Department of Homeland Security, the Defense Department and the Department of Veterans Affairs, the Democrats said they will investigate whether the Pentagon and DHS are coordinating to deport military service members and their families.

“These efforts imperil military readiness, weaken service members’ morale, and betray America’s promises to the people who put their lives on the line for our nation,” according to the letter, which was signed by more than 60 lawmakers and provided to the AP.
