Your ticket price gets compared to a subscription, not to your stream

Two live events sold access in the same month at very different prices. Only one of them got argued with.

Nobody prices your stream on its own. They price it against whatever they already pay for.

If you sell one-off access to a live event, that's your entire pricing problem in one sentence. The number you pick doesn't get weighed against what the event cost you to produce, or the hours of setup, or what a seat in the room would go for. It gets weighed against the subscription already sitting on the viewer's card, the one that puts live events in front of them every week for a flat monthly fee. You're not setting a price. You're setting a difference, and you need to be able to say out loud what fills it.

Two live events sold this way in the same few weeks, and the reactions to them split cleanly. One is a boxing pay-per-view at $79.99. The other is two nights of game music concerts streamed out of a fan convention in Berlin, sold through a Japanese ticketing site at 4,950 yen for both nights together. Same model, same month. Only one of them got asked what it thought it was worth.

X swapped Revenue Sharing for Original Content Rewards

Revenue Sharing is closed to new applicants and pays existing participants only through 7 September. Then everyone reapplies. Enrolment doesn't carry over, and Original Content Rewards counts impressions only from Premium users, so the audience that pays you is now X's own paying base. The 500 verified followers and the 500,000 Home timeline views have to hold continuously, not just on the day you apply.

TikTok Live passed Twitch on hours watched

Stream Hatchet's Q2 2026 Live-Streaming Trends Report, covering April to June, gives TikTok Live 8.9 billion hours watched, a 50.9% share, against Twitch's 4.5 billion and 25.9%. A quarter earlier, Streams Charts had TikTok LIVE's watch time down about 12% quarter over quarter, its steepest drop of the four big platforms. Two quarters pointing opposite ways isn't a direction, so use your own numbers.
