I talked to a guy this morning who is "doing everything right."
Working out. Eating clean. Watching videos. Tracking macros.
Still skinny fat.
Feels tubby. Weight hasn't moved in months.
He knows something is wrong. Maybe his metabolism is busted. Maybe he needs to eat even less?
But nothing is wrong with him.
Here's his real dilemma:
The reason is what's called a 'set point'.
It's like a thermostat for your body.
If you get below the body fat range your body feels comfortable at, the thermostat notices. Hunger goes up. Energy goes down. The body pulls you right back to where you started.
It's not a willpower issue. Your body is just doing its job.
So the real question isn't - how do I eat less?
It should be - how do I move the thermostat?
That way losing fat gets easier, and gaining it back becomes hard.
