Good evening, and welcome to another summertime election night. Tonight, we’ll watch to see just how far the progressive wave will carry its candidates — and we’ve got another test of the power of President Trump’s endorsement.

Polls are closing in a couple of hours in Wisconsin, where Francesca Hong wants to be the first democratic socialist to become a governor. Polling suggests she holds a lead over several Democratic rivals. In Minnesota, the progressive Lt. Gov. Peggy Flanagan and the moderate Representative Angie Craig are facing off in the Democratic primary for Senate.

We’ve also got our eyes on South Carolina, where voters are casting their ballots in a special election to replace Senator Lindsey Graham after his unexpected death. Trump has thrown his support behind Graham’s sister, Darline Graham. If no one in the crowded field clears 50 percent, the race will go to a runoff later this month.

Follow our coverage below. I’ll dig into the results tomorrow in an early edition of On Politics.
