Ethanol plant to pay for wetland restoration at Emiquon wildlife refuge as part of Illinois River pollution settlement

A major ethanol refinery on the Illinois River near Peoria has been ordered to fund efforts to restore its wetlands and floodplain after an eight-year legal fight over alleged water discharges up to 40 degrees hotter than permitted, threatening aquatic life.
