Good morning! We're a day late in your inboxes so we could devote all our energy to analyzing Tuesday night's primary results.

I'm still reeling from the big upset of the night: state Rep. Angie Nixon, a progressive, upsetting retired Lt. Col. Alex Vindman in the Democratic U.S. Senate primary despite a massive fundraising difference between them.

I was watching to see how progressives fared across the board in Florida. Despite Nixon's win, it was a mixed bag.

How progressive Angie Nixon pulled off an upset

For months, it looked like the U.S. Senate Democratic primary was decided in Florida, for retired Lt. Col. Alex Vindman.

But weeks before the primary, signs of state Rep. Angie Nixon's momentum were everywhere. She scored coveted endorsements from progressive allies. Negative videos of Vindman went viral. Previously skeptical voters started looking her way.

On Tuesday night, she won the primary by 12 points.
