But if your intention is to learn the craft of armor making and leathercrafting, and elevate your capabilities as an artisan, you should know about our Digital Apprenticeship to get the most from our Academy.
The apprentice path is an accelerated fast track to mastery. You never have to worry about being overwhelmed because new tools, tips, techniques, and detail options are presented in a natural cadence as you need them. Each design builds upon the last, and gives you just enough of a challenge to prepare you for the next rung as you walk the path.
The Core Apprentice Builds:
Beginner Builds: The Scout (coming soon) and Warrior series builds are designed to introduce you to the basics, and deliberately omit complicated designs and the need for complex and expensive tools so you can focus on mastering the fundamentals while challenging you just enough to begin expanding your horizons.
Intermediate Builds: The Fantasy and Imperial series is where you start getting into learning more about full body armor coverage with articulations, basic shaping, and many new decoration options.
Advanced Builds: The Berserker and Elven series builds are designed to introduce you to some of the more intricate and complex tooling and shaping possibilities that can be achieved in leather.
Expert Builds: Dragon/Hydra series (coming soon) will be the first expert and above builds and lessons that are meant to showcase some of the highest end of what's possible with crafting armor.
These builds have been many years in the making and are an incredible way to learn the craft in a guided progression. And instead of spending years on projects you do not get to keep, you can follow the guided builds from home, at your own pace, and every piece you craft, and every bit of knowledge you gain is yours to keep.
If you want to skip ahead and pick an intermediate or advanced build, that's ok too. Our designs are also well suited for one-off creations for those who don't want to learn the full craft. But for those looking for more: don't underestimate the power of mileage while building basic designs to get your reps in.
