License plate reader cameras are cropping up across the country and creating growing concerns over privacy — but drivers can gain some awareness if their vehicle has been surveilled.

In Las Vegas, Clark County Sheriff Kevin McMahill said the Metropolitan Police Department has about 180 Flock Safety cameras along with 130 Motorola cameras deployed throughout the valley.
