Proposed Zoning Ordinance Amendment in Response to 2026 Code of Virginia Updates
On August 25, 2026, the Board of Supervisors (Board) adopted a resolution authorizing advertisement of public hearings to consider a Zoning Ordinance amendment proposing necessary changes to align with recent Code of Virginia (Va. Code) amendments that became effective on July 1, 2026. The proposed changes to the Zoning Ordinance reflect and conform with amendments to the Va. Code related to manufactured housing, solar power facilities, battery energy storage facilities, wireless facilities, minimum off-street parking requirements and high energy use facilities, e.g. data centers.
Planning Commission Public Hearing: October 7, 2026, at 7:30 p.m.
Board of Supervisors Public Hearing: October 27, 2026, at 4:00 p.m.
