Good Afternoon Flint Hill Families,
The first week of school has brought joy back to FHES. Classrooms, hallways, the playground and all of our spaces are alive with learning and enthusiasm for the new year. This week, we were excited to welcome Superintendent Michelle Reid and school board members Ryan McElveen and Kyle McDaniel to on Monday to visit music and kindergarten classrooms. This was a wonderful opportunity to share about the fantastic things happening at FHES from day one!
Learning continued this week as 2nd graders visited the courtyard and found early signs of monarch butterflies including caterpillars, eggs and milkweed plants. In grades 4-6 students were introduced to their music options including joining strings (4-6), band (5-6) and chorus (5-6)!
The courtyard clean-up day will be this Saturday, August 29th from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm. Popsicles will be provided and attendees will get a special FHES gift! Join us to help get our wonderful learning courtyard ready for a year of hands-on outdoor learning experiences.
I would like to extend a special thank you to Scout Troop 1978 and Pack 987 for their outstanding contributions to the front garden beds at FHES. The scouts weeded, mulched and prepared the gardens for a new year of learning and have help set our classes up for success! Thank you!
Don't forget that the PTA New Family Breakfast is tomorrow, Friday, August 28th at 9:30 am in the FHES Courtyard! We hope to see you there and welcome you to your new community!
The date for the Flint Hill ES Back-to-School Night is Thursday, September 17th from 5:30-7:00 pm!
Lastly, we would also like to extend an invitation to military connected families for a popsicle party on the playground on Tuesday, September 8th from 3:45 - 4:30 pm. Popsicles and games will be provided. This is a great way to connect with current at new FHES families who share a bond through military service. We hope to see you there!
Kindly,
Mr. Montaquila, Principal
Mr. Baker, Assistant Principal
