The Sunshine Scoop
Dear Louise Archer Families,
It has been wonderful to see your children at school this week! Our students have been learning new routines, meeting new people, and settling into the school year. We have loved getting to know them—or welcoming them back after summer break.
Please mark your calendars for Back to School Night on September 9, 2026! This adults-only event is an opportunity to hear directly from your child’s teacher about the year ahead. We hope to see you there! More information is provided below.
Thank you for your continued partnership as we begin this new school year. We look forward to a wonderful year of S.H.I.N.E.-ing together!
Sincerely,
Liz Noto, Principal Tory Swanson, Assistant Principal
Important: There is a 3-hour early release dismissal confirmation form buried deep in ParentVUE. To make it easier for you to provide us with information about your child’s 3-hour early release dismissal plan, please complete our Google Form as soon as possible. We'll handle the rest!
Only one form should be submitted per family. If you have more than one student at Louise Archer, use the sections labeled Student 1, Student 2, Student 3, and so on. Please have each student’s ID number handy.
Early Release Wednesdays are September 30, November 18, January 13, and April 7. Families will receive a reminder one week before each early release to confirm dismissal plans. Due to student safety, changes will not be accepted on the day of early release. Thank you!

Join us on Thursday, September 3rd at Madison High School for this year's County Fair and the first home Football game of the season! The Warhawks host the Lake Braddock Bruins, which kicks off at 7 p.m. The event is a pyramid & community celebration with a variety of activities and games for all ages (cotton candy, face painting, obstacle course, meet the mascot, and much more). The event culminates with the annual “Warhawk Rush” as our Louise Archer students and other pyramid students race across the football field, being cheered on by the Vienna Community. Gates open @ 5 p.m. and the “Warhawk Rush” begins @ ~6:50 p.m. Ticket prices will be $7 adults, $5 students. As we roll out the new bus card system for the 2026-27 school year, we will temporarily be unable to accommodate afternoon bus pass requests. This pause will allow us to ensure the new card system is working smoothly before adding temporary bus changes. Once the bus card system is fully underway, we will send a community message letting families know we can begin accepting afternoon bus pass requests. Please keep in mind afternoon bus change requests are due TWO SCHOOL DAYS prior to the change and are emailed to LAESBusPass@fcps.edu
