A Message from the Principal
We had a wonderful first week back at school! It has been so nice to hear the excitement of student voices filling our building. Our students and staff have spent this week getting to know each other, building community, learning procedures, and beginning to dive into the curriculum.
Our students received their bus ID badges on the first day of school. They use them when boarding and disembarking from the bus in the morning and afternoon. During the school day, student ID badges will remain in student backpacks. Only students that ride a bus were given their student ID badges. If a student registered after July 1st, they will receive their bus ID badge in the next few weeks.
Thank you to those families who attended our first Centre Ridge Parent Teacher Association (PTA) Meeting last evening. The PTA has planned several fun family events for this school year. We hope you will consider joining the PTA. More information will be going home in Tuesday folders.
We appreciate your partnership and all that you have done to prepare your students for a great year! Have a wonderful weekend!
Sincerely,
Erika Aspuria, Principal
Calendar Reminder: Labor Day (Holiday)
Friday, September 4, and Monday, September 7, are Labor Day holidays for all FCPS employees and students.
Virginia legislation requires that schools opening before Labor Day must be closed the Friday immediately before Labor Day.
We hope everyone takes the long weekend to celebrate a strong start to the school year and enjoy time with family and friends. See the complete school year calendar and employee calendar.

Why Use the Raptor App?
Faster Check-In: Skip long lines at the front office during busy morning drop-offs or school events.
Streamlined Process: Enter your visitor details on your phone before arriving or upon entering the building.
Enhanced Safety: Maintains our high standard of campus security while giving you a seamless entry experience.
How to Get Started:
- Scan the QR code above using your mobile device's camera to download the app and learn more.
- Follow the quick setup instructions on your screen.

Mornings Matter—Every Day, On Time, Ready to Shine!
A strong start leads to a strong day of learning! Arriving on time each morning helps students settle into their routine, connect with their teachers and friends, and fully engage in the day ahead. When students are present and punctual, they build great habits that support their confidence and success.
Even missing just two days a month can add up, affecting progress over the year. Let’s work together to make every morning count, and ensure our Rams are on time, ready to learn, and excited for the day ahead! Thank you for your partnership in making attendance a priority!
Together, let’s make everyday count!

Opt In or Out to Student Devices Being Sent Home for Grades 1-6
New this year, families can opt out of having student laptops sent home with their student.
- If you do not want your student to bring their FCPS-issued device home, please toggle the Opt Out button to a check mark and confirm by pressing Save Selection.
- If you would like your student to bring their FCPS device home, no toggle action is needed. Confirm by pressing Save Selection.
Students whose families opt out will continue to have access to an FCPS-issued device during the school day. Please reach out to your student’s teacher to understand expectations for homework and any learning activities that may require access to technology outside of the school day.
Transportation Patience and Safety
Thank you for your patience as we all get used to new routines this school year. We appreciate our families following Kiss and Ride procedures and being patient while waiting for your child’s bus.
