Hope you're keeping well
Different sort of email today. There's a personal story in it I don't tell often.
Back at school I had almost no confidence. I was self-conscious about a bit of acne on my chin, and the moment a girl I liked came within talking distance I'd go tongue-tied and turn into somebody I didn't recognise.
So I assumed no girl liked me. In my head that was settled.
One lunchtime I was on my own in the dining hall, finishing a sandwich in a hurry because the break was nearly over. My friends had already wandered off.
I noticed Lynn across the room with her friend. Both of them looking my way and giggling.
First thought: here we go, they're talking about how odd I am. I went red and stared at the table.
When I looked up she was walking towards me. Still smiling. My heart was pounding.
Lynn was tall for her age and genuinely pretty, and every boy in that year would have said yes to her without thinking about it.
"Hi," she said. My shields went straight up. I was waiting for the punchline.
"Look" she said, "I don't know how to say this, so I'll just say it. Would you like to go on a date with me sometime?"
I couldn't process it. It felt like watching myself from somewhere near the ceiling.
Then I spotted a group on the next table, staring across at us.
And my head went off like a firework. Is this a set-up? Are they all in on it?
What happens tomorrow if I say yes and it turns out to be a joke, or worse, one of the other boys decides to start something with me over it?
So I went into safe mode.
I said no. Then I got up and walked out.
The look on her face was pure confusion. She knew what she was worth.
She'd never have expected somebody like me to turn her down.
That was a long time ago yet I still think about it.
Here's what I eventually took from it. The thing you want most is the thing you'll build the best case against, because wanting it means it can cost you something. People who aren't that bothered decide in about a second.
Which brings me to the Power Prompts you downloaded.
They work. Then a job turns up that none of them cover, and you're straight back to typing "make it shorter" and hoping for the best.
- 50 brand new prompts, none of them repeats from the free pack
- The formula behind them, so you can write your own for any task
- The tools already picked for you, free or paid
- A weekly routine that takes you from idea to published
- A special Claude section with 7 short videos
8 compact modules. You could finish it tomorrow. And at the end you'll have the knowledge and confidence to act.
It's $7 until Sunday night. From Monday 31 August it's $17, and it stays there.
So if you'd like to stop hunting for the right prompt and just write the one you need...
Cheers,
Ed
P.S. I won't pretend that $7 against $17 is going to change your life either way. But I know what it's like to talk yourself out of something small and still be thinking about it years later. It's $7 until Monday 31st.
