The Wolf Shack: Justice High School PTSA-Sponsored Food & Resource Pantry Opens September 2nd

The Wolf Shack, the PTSA-sponsored in-school food and resource pantry, opens for students September 2nd! In the Wolf Shack, we provide FREE essential resources for ALL Justice students - from after-school snacks to food and fresh produce for home to personal toiletries to clothing to academic supplies.

Our Wolf Shack volunteers support over 1,500 student visits a month during weekly open hours on Wednesdays & Thursdays. The Wolf Shack can also be accessed anytime for emergent needs through teachers, social workers, family liaisons and counselors.

The need for food and resource support has continued to increase in our community. The Wolf Shack is fully dependent upon the financial and in-kind donation support of our partners, families, staff and community. Please help us ensure that all Justice students have the food and resources they need. We are asking you to consider supporting The Wolf Shack in any of the following ways:

  • Make a financial donation which allows us to fill urgent needs (jhsptsa.org/wolfshackfund)
  • Become a Food for Neighbors Red Bag Donor to donate easily throughout the school year  (https://www.foodforneighbors.org/red-bag-program/)
  • Drop-off or have any donation delivered to the front office of JHS (just label with "PTSA Wolf Shack")
  • Purchase directly from our Amazon wish-list and deliver straight to the school (jhsptsa.org/wolfshackwishlist)
  • Organize a food and toiletry drive through your community, church, clubs and/or service organizations
  • Volunteer for our weekly open hours, packing the family food bags and/or for food distribution pick-ups and unloading  (jhsptsa.org/wolfshacksignup)

Email wolfshack@justicehsptsa.org with any questions or ideas. Thank you again for your support and generosity!

VARSITY FOOTBALL ENTRY UPDATES

Clear Bags and Weapons Screening at Football Games

FCPS is taking additional steps this year to help ensure that our athletic events remain safe for students, families, staff, and community members by introducing  security screenings of all spectators at our varsity football games.

We will be using the existing weapons screening systems that our students pass through every morning in our schools. In addition, we will be implementing a standardized bag policy to help support a smooth and efficient entry process. Students, family members, and all spectators are reminded that the following items are prohibited:

  • Backpacks
  • Purse
  • Fanny pack
  • Tote bags
  • Outside food and beverage
  • Sporting equipment (balls, bats, sticks, etc.)
  • Any item prohibited by FCPS policy, or determined by event staff to present safety concerns

Approved bags are limited to:

  • Clear plastic, vinyl, or pvc bags no larger than 12”6”x12”
  • Small clutch bag no larger than 4.5” x 6.5”
  • Medical and diaper bags permitted but subject to inspection

As a reminder, middle-school students and younger, must be accompanied by a responsible adult who remains with the student(s) at the event.
