#WomensMonth: Special Edition Newsletter 2026
Welcome to our Women’s Month 2026 Special Edition newsletter.

In South Africa, August is Women’s Month, with 9 August celebrated as Women’s Day, in a tribute to the more than 20,000 women who marched to the Union Buildings in 1956 in protest against the extension of Pass Laws to women.

While this month raises awareness of the persistent inequalities, discrimination and abuse of rights experienced by women today, and shows commitment towards achieving the aims and aspirations of those brave women of 1956, it also highlights the achievements of women in business across all industries, from marketing to mining.

This year’s sponsor, GoTyme Bank, certainly highlights women's achievements and their commitment to excellence and support of outstanding women across South Africa.

Bizcommunity’s Women's Month features stories that celebrate and highlight the inspiring journeys, achievements, and insights of remarkable and influential women and their significant contributions to their fields.
