| Dear Rory,
Have you ever wondered why certain patterns seem to follow you through life, even when you've done so much work to change them?
The tendency to people-please, play small, disconnect from your needs, or feel as though you don't quite belong may not have begun with you.
Some of the patterns that shape us most deeply can be inherited responses to migration, displacement, assimilation, colonialism, and other disruptions experienced by generations before us.
Today, Wednesday, at 5:00pm Pacific, curandera and cultural educator Grace Alvarez Sesma begins Releasing Colonial Wounds, her transformative 7-week course exploring an Indigenous approach to ancestral healing, reclamation, and resilience.
Throughout this journey, Maestra Grace will invite you to explore your ancestral story with compassion, recognizing how historical forces may have shaped your family's relationship with identity, belonging, land, culture, community, and one another.
You'll begin distinguishing between the burdens your lineage learned to carry as well as the wisdom, strengths, and ways of knowing that also survived.
Through guided visualization, heart-centered meditation, reflective journaling, and practices rooted in Indigenous tradition, you'll explore what you're ready to release while deepening your connection to what you wish to reclaim.
Over seven weeks, you'll have the opportunity to trace inherited patterns without blame or shame, reconnect with ancestral resources that may have been forgotten or interrupted, and cultivate a more grounded relationship with your lineage and yourself.
Rather than treating these patterns as personal shortcomings to overcome, Maestra Grace offers a compassionate framework for understanding them within the larger stories that shaped your ancestors, so healing can become an act of remembrance, reconnection, and reclamation. |
