All About the 2026 Emmys

On Monday night, television’s biggest stars gathered for the 78th annual Primetime Emmy Awards, hosted by first-time emcee Mariska Hargitay—who brought about fifty wigs and twenty outfit changes to the ceremony. Widow’s Bay, Matthew Rhys and, unsurprisingly, The Pitt were the night’s big winners, taking home the awards for best comedy, best actor (twice), and drama, respectively. Vanity Fair had your ticket inside the event, from the carpet to the ceremony. Here, find a full recap of everything that happened during the show—from Hargitay’s best bits to our favorite presenters to the best looks.
