New technologies, new interest and visibility of Asian pop culture, a growing population, and a complex set of disparities within that population, reveal an increasingly urgent question: How can AAPI leaders ensure our narratives are not erased and help shape what comes next?
This fall, Serica is exploring that question through flagship events that convene the leaders and creators who are shaping how our AAPI stories are told, including:
September 24: Voices Rising: Korean Diaspora Voices in Performance. Featuring company members from the Korean adaptation of the iconic Chekhov play, The Cherry Orchard (tickets here, 9/16-9/26), and other prominent performers across dance, music, stage, and the screen, Voices Rising reflects on the explosive impact of Korean and Korean American performance and entertainment. Tickets for the live event sold out, but the full showcase will be released for streaming in November!
November 4: AAPI Trailblazers Conference: Owning our Stories in the Age of AI. This half-day convening explores how AAPI leaders are responding to a new world of artificial intelligence — and invites attendees to consider how our communities, stories, and work can inform a more inclusive future.
