Friday, September 18, was our first Wellness Day of the Year! Students were able to play games, enjoy snacks, create, learn about healthy habits, and enjoy music and dancing. It was a great afternoon, enjoyed by all of our Bryant Staff and Students! The next Wellness Day is on Friday, October 16.

This week was packed with learning, assessments, and community building! Here is a look at what our students accomplished:

Academic Updates: Some students completed their WorkKeys Reading and Writing assessments and all students finished MAP Reading and Math testing and most students were introduced to their upcoming Social Studies project-based assessments.

Wellness Day: On Friday, we held our first Wellness Day of the year! Pictured above are just a few of the fun activities students enjoyed throughout the afternoon. This time gives our students a well-deserved break, a chance to learn new skills, connect with peers, and play games. Judging by all the smiles, it was a massive success! Mark your calendars for our next Wellness Day on Friday, October 16.

Back-to-School Night Video: For families who couldn't make it to Back-to-School Night, keep an eye out for an eNotify email coming soon. It will include a video link covering our School Improvement and Title I plans as well as what’s ahead for Bryant this year.
Lastly, a friendly reminder, there is no school tomorrow, Monday, September 21. We look forward to welcoming all of our students back on Tuesday morning at 8:00 AM!

College Fair and Postsecondary Virtual Night
Prepare for your child’s future at College Fair and Postsecondary Virtual Night. The annual FCPS College Fair will be held Sunday, October 18, from 4 to 6 p.m., at the George Mason University Eagle Bank Arena. Approximately 200 colleges and universities will be represented, including two- and four-year schools and U.S. Service Academies.
The virtual postsecondary night event will be held on Monday, October 19, from 5 to 8 p.m. Both events will help students prepare for the next chapter of their educational journey. Learn more about the College Fair and postsecondary virtual event.
Twice Exceptional Students
Fairfax County Public Schools is committed to challenging all students through talent development and differentiated instruction. Twice-Exceptional (2e) learners are students who are gifted and have learning challenges or disabilities.
Families can learn more about 2e learners, how to support them, and how to partner with schools on the 2e webpage, which also includes a link to the Special Education Handbook.
New information, including printable flyers, has been added under the heading Supporting 2e Learners in FCPS.

SEL Screener - October 6
The Fall Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) Screener will be administered to students on Tuesday, October 6. Students use the SEL Screener twice a year to share their perspectives on how well their school and community help them develop skills they need to succeed. The screener works by asking questions or presenting statements that students can think about and respond to. This gives students a way to share how well their school community makes them feel valued, included, and supported.
After each screening, results are available in the Documents tab of SIS ParentVUE and mailed to families without a ParentVUE account. For more information, including SEL Screener questions and opt-out information, please visit the Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) Screener webpage.
