Think about this number: 1. That's how many employers your entire income runs through right now.

If that 1 employer cuts your role for whatever reason, I know you won't sulk in your room doing nothing. You'll go back to the job board sites, stack a lot of applications, and hope somebody replies before your savings run out.

I'm not saying that to scare you. I'm saying it because I was in the exact same spot, and here's exactly how I built my backup plan.

When I started my first YouTube channel, I was working full-time as a pharmacist. I lived with 7 roommates. I recorded in the 1 small window when nobody was home, because I was nervous they'd find it cringe.

That channel was my second door. I built it on the side, while the first door was still open. When my "dream job" got too hectic, I walked through the second door and went all in on my backup plan. Today my channels are past 1.5M combined subscribers, and I never had to bet everything on 1 employer ever again.

A YouTube channel about your skill can be your second door too. You build it around your current job, the people in your field start finding you, and if the day ever comes when your role gets cut, you're not starting from zero, because you already have a backup.

Josh Madakor is my favorite example. Josh is an IT and cybersecurity professional who started making useful videos in his field on the side. Job offers came to him, he accepted one, and the channel kept going. It eventually produced a $186,000 month.
