Consider this your seasonal switch-up

It happens every year. One minute you’re firmly in summer. The next, something shifts - usually, the weather. The evenings feel a little different, and the thought of a proper plate of something warm suddenly sounds like exactly what you came to the pub for.

Good timing, then. Our new menu has arrived.

Start with Winterdale rarebit crumpet, caramelised onions, fried Burford Brown egg and chutney. Move on to chicken and Parma ham schnitzel with Kaltbach cheese, Caesar salad and fries. Or go all in on slow-cooked beef rib and chestnut mushroom pot pie, with garlic mash and charred cabbage - the kind of dish that makes moving into the new season feel like a pretty good trade.

And if there was ever proof your cravings have moved on, it’s suddenly finding room for pudding. Apple and blueberry crumble with custard, or sticky toffee pudding with butterscotch sauce, maple pecans and clotted cream ice cream? Right on cue.

A new season in your glass

The seasonal switch-up is happening at the bar, too. Things are getting richer, spicier and a whole lot more indulgent, with a new line-up of signature sips made for what comes next.
There’s a Toffee Apple Punch, an Amaretto Mule with a warming kick, and a Black Forest Martini - retro, we know - that sits somewhere very happily between cocktail and pudding.

Let’s face it, summer had a good run. The best in years, you might say, but we won’t lie, we’re fully ready for autumn and everything it brings to the table. Especially when the table looks like this.
