We're all focused on a nor'easter impacting southern England, including Greater Boston, through the weekend. Ed Sheeran's concerts were canceled at Gillette, the Red Sox moved their final game of the season out of state, and flights have been impacted. Buckle up! A powerful nor’easter continues to produce on-and-off heavy rain, gusty winds, and coastal flooding for southern New England, including Greater Boston, through your weekend.

In fact, the coastal low isn’t going anywhere, anytime soon. This will be a long-duration event.

The low will slowly churn south of New England and pivot toward the New Jersey coast this weekend, keeping the threat for rainy, windy conditions in the forecast for us here in Boston into early next week.

New Englanders are bracing themselves for a long-duration nor’easter this weekend that is expected to bring damaging winds, heavy rain and possible flooding.

Massachusetts Gov. Maura Healey and state officials are urging the public, especially those who live in coastal communities, to prepare ahead of the storm’s arrival.

“Our top priority is keeping people safe, and Massachusetts is prepared for this storm,” Healey said in a statement Friday. “It isn’t often we see nor’easters this early in the fall, but our teams are closely monitoring the forecast, coordinating with local officials and ready to respond quickly to support communities before, during and after the storm.”

Ed Sheeran was set to play two concerts at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts, this weekend, but the promoter has announced both shows have been canceled due to an impending nor’easter.

“Due to the severe weather warnings in place in Boston and across New England throughout the weekend and following consultation with local officials, we have made the difficult decision to cancel the Ed Sheeran concerts at Gillette Stadium,” Messina Touring Group posted to social media late Friday morning. “The decision was made with the safety of fans, staff and everyone involved in the shows as the top priority.”

Gillette Stadium shared the promoter’s post to their Instagram story. Sheeran hasn’t publicly commented yet.

This weekend’s nor’easter is bringing major changes to the end of the regular season for the Red Sox.

Sunday’s game against the Chicago Cubs was already moved to Friday afternoon as part of a doubleheader. Now, Saturday’s game — the 162nd and last for both teams — will be played Sunday afternoon at the home of the Tampa Bay Rays.

It will be a home game for the Red Sox at Tropicana Field to finish off the regular season. First pitch is at 3:05 p.m.

A brawl broke out this week on an MBTA bus, and the teens involved are caught on video falling onto other passengers.

Shawn Nelson was riding on the bus at the time and said it was important to capture the chaos.

“If the MBTA or the authorities doesn’t know about this problem, how are they supposed to correct it?” Nelson asked.

A 29-year-old man is accused of kidnapping and sexually trafficking a woman who prosecutors said was held for six weeks in the unfinished attic of a home in Malden, Massachusetts, before the property owner discovered her and called police.

Jordende Pierre is facing charges including trafficking a person for sexual servitude, kidnapping and indecent assault and battery on a person 14 or older.

Prosecutors said the woman was found Sunday naked and malnourished on a mat in the attic of a multifamily home on Summer Street.
