Some weeks, it’s especially difficult to whittle down the number of stories in this newsletter to a manageable amount of reading, and this was one of them. The Book Review gave us 11 takeaways from Charles Spencer’s forthcoming memoir about his sister Princess Diana’s life. Amanda Hess profiled a tradwife influencer who left her husband, started questioning her beliefs, stopped selling anti-feminism T-shirts — and still needs to make a living online. And Thomas Fuller, who shared in a comment that he spent his career “writing earnestly about wildfires or insurrections in faraway countries," reported on the viral hero who jumped through a fast food drive-through window to challenge a customer with a spatula. It’s a tale just as zany and fun to read as you might hope. Also! We rolled out a new installment in our modern canon — the 100 best TV shows of the 21st century — including not-to-be-missed video interviews with the stars who voted. All that (and even more great stuff) is below. I’ll see you next weekend(er). — Farah Now, join the conversation. The editors, reporters and critics who produced this list joined readers in the comments to discuss shows that didn’t make it, our methodology and more. Read what they have to say, and add your own thoughts, too! |
