Work, eat, chores, not enough sleep, repeat.

That’s what it can feel like for busy parents trying to manage the never-ending juggle of kids, career and cost-of-living. So, really, it's no surprise that burnt-out Aussie mums, in particular, are flocking to wellness retreats for some well-earned rest, relaxation and 'me time'.

This week Olivia Shying (who is a very busy, working mum herself!) has taken a look at the booming industry that's been experiencing a rise in tired parents wanting some time away from their families. Olivia reveals the major price differences across almost 30 health retreats. They can start from just $549 to a staggering $40,000. So depending on your budget, (I don't think many of us could afford the top price point), she's got you covered.

Interestingly, some of these retreats do have surprising Australian owners behind them. See the full list of who they are here. That doesn't include the owner of one $2200-a-night retreat who had a secret double life trafficking cocaine. See more about that in this story.

Meanwhile, if you're considering taking some time out for a solo trip to focus on yourself, make sure you also take a look at part two of the series. It tells the stories of mums who forked out thousands to relax and rejuvenate, including one who was working seven days a week in a cafe before a tragic loss forced her to take a break. They reveal if they found it worthwhile going.

Have you been to a wellness retreat? How did you find it? Let us know at health@news.com.au.

Have an amazing week.
