Stakk (ASX:SKK) has secured a deployment to help assess postal votes ahead of the US midterm elections, extending its reach into government document authentication. Through wholly owned subsidiary ParaScript, Stakk is working with several strategic partners to support multiple US states and counties ahead of the November 3 poll. The technology is already live and forms part of a broader partner-delivered solution to analyse and interpret certain postal votes. Stakk says its document review, data extraction and signature verification capabilities add another layer of authentication, supporting scrutiny and helping to flag potential fraud. The rollout follows Stakk’s recently announced signature verification engagement for use by the US Federal Bureau of Investigation. Stakk says the two engagements provide further validation of its capabilities and demonstrate growing appeal among government agencies at state and federal levels. Millions of documents and a deadline Postal voting creates a sizeable document assessment workload within an election timetable. The US Election Assistance Commission’s 2024 survey reported more than 158 million counted ballots, with voting by mail accounting for about 30% of total ballots cast. Public funding underlines the priority that governments place on election infrastructure. The US Election Assistance Commission reports US$955 million in election-security grants awarded to 56 grantees during 2018-2025, covering the states, Washington DC and five territories. Congress separately appropriated US$45m for election administration and security in FY2026. For Stakk, the postal vote deployment adds a government application to technology the company says already serves more than 300 enterprise customers and processes more than 110 billion interactions annually. |
