A Quick Clarification About ID Verification at VHSO

Veterans,

A Quick Clarification About ID Verification at VHSO:

We want to help make every visit to the Veterans Health Care System of the Ozarks (VHSO) as smooth and comfortable as possible.

When you arrive at the Medical Center or one of our Community-Based Outpatient Clinics (CBOCs) for care, VA staff are responsible for authenticating the identity of Veterans and dependents who are enrolled in the VA system and presenting for care.

What should you bring? Please bring your Veteran Health Identification Card (VHIC), if available, or another primary identification document. A VHIC is preferred, but other acceptable primary identification documents may also be used.

If you do not have a primary identification document, two of the following secondary documents may be used to verify your identity:

What if you don’t have any documents? If you arrive without identification documents, VA staff can use private challenge questions to verify your identity. Because these questions involve personal information, they will be asked privately rather than in an open waiting area. This may take a little additional time during check-in.

Our goal is simple: protect your privacy, keep your information secure and help you get to your care as smoothly as possible.

Thank you for helping us make the check-in process safe, secure, and efficient for everyone we serve.

VHSO, where Veterans come first!
