Prosecutor Fani Willis was disqualified from Trump’s election case in Georgia.

• Why? It’s tied to accusations that she had an inappropriate relationship with an attorney she hired to lead the case. Willis’s disqualification could doom the high-profile prosecution.
• What else to know: Many Trump critics fear his campaign promise of retribution has begun. And some people are rushing to buy cars and appliances before Trump takes office.

A California man is suspected of plotting with the Wisconsin school shooter.

• Yesterday: Authorities detained Alexander Paffendorf, 20, on suspicion of “plotting a mass shooting” with the 15-year-old girl who carried out an attack on her school Monday.
• Digging deeper: FBI agents say they saw messages between Paffendorf and Natalie Rupnow, who fatally shot two people and injured six before she died of a self-inflicted wound.

The FAA temporary banned drone flights in parts of New Jersey.

• Why? Frequent drone sightings have unsettled residents — and sparked panic online — in recent weeks. The ban, enacted yesterday, covers 22 communities and runs until Jan. 17.
• Who is flying the drones? It remains a mystery. But officials are urging calm, saying the sightings could be drones operating lawfully, as well as planes, helicopters and stars.

Amazon warehouse strikes threaten to disrupt holiday deliveries.

• What’s happening? Workers at seven delivery hubs went on strike yesterday in an effort to pressure Amazon for a labor agreement. It could delay shipments in some metro areas.
• This morning: Starbucks baristas will walk out in Los Angeles, Chicago and Seattle. The strikes could expand to hundreds of stores from coast to coast next week.
