Happy Friday, DMV. It’s Feb. 21. I was reading through my Inspired Life colleagues’ Optimist Hour chat and was pleasantly reminded of Clark the bald eagle, a “conservation ambassador” who flew — by plane — to D.C. for a work trip and was staying at a swank hotel downtown. For real — I kid you not. It was last April. As soon as I read about Clark, I emailed his humans at the World Bird Sanctuary in Missouri to learn his schedule in hope that my family and I could see him. Instead, we were invited to meet him in his hotel. We dropped everything (after school, that is). We met Clark in his suite (which had a plastic drop cloth to protect the floors from his birdie mess). We eyed (with a touch of envy) his three-course sashimi meal. It was fun. We get such interesting visitors in D.C. ☀️ Capital Weather Gang daily digit: 4/10. Sunnier skies accompany wintry cold and wind. Highs in the mid- and upper 30s feel colder with wind gusts near 30 mph possible. Lows in the upper teens to low 20s. Tomorrow: Much less wind, clouds in the afternoon. |
