Justin Turner's one-year, $6 million deal with the Cubs was made official Thursday during the team’s 12-4 win over the Los Angeles Dodgers in the Cactus League opener at Camelback Ranch.

Cubs pitcher Cody Poteet made history in the first inning, becoming the first player to challenge the ABS (automated ball-strike) system that’s being implemented for the first time in major-league games. The Cubs brought only one regular position player — first baseman Michael Busch — and will play several starters today at Sloan Park, including Dansby Swanson, Seiya Suzuki and Pete Crow-Armstrong.
