Special Events and Food Trucks Zoning Ordinance Amendment
On February 4, 2025, the Board of Supervisors (Board) adopted an amendment that revises the permissions and use-specific standards for special events and food trucks. The updated standards introduce a two-tiered Administrative Permit (AP) process for special events, as well as an option for applicants to submit for a program of reoccurring events. Changes for food trucks include an increase in the operation limit from 12 to 45 days per year in association with nonresidential uses in residential districts. Additionally, the new standards allow one food truck on nonresidential properties with less than 25,000 square feet of gross floor area where it was not previously allowed.
