A student reads to another student

We love seeing our students connect across the building! Pictured above is an older student spending some time in one of our younger classes to read with other students.

Dear Families

Hope you are staying warm through these days of cold temperatures. We have been having some issues with heat in the building and our facilities team has been hard at work to ensure the building is warm and safe. We will continue to monitor the situation. We also want to make you aware of some inappropriate technology use. As part of the Acceptable Use Policy within the SR&R, student laptops are to be used for instructional purposes and are to be treated with respect. Teachers are utilizing tools to monitor how the computer is being used and even have the capability to shut down the internet on computers if necessary. We want to make sure that students are safe and not utilizing sites that they should not.

Partnering for Digital Safety: We encourage you to discuss appropriate website use with your child. Remind them that their school computer use is for learning, and it's important to stick to approved sites. Ask your child about the websites they use in the classroom. This is a great way to reinforce the importance of online safety and responsible browsing. Thank you for your help with this.

Wishing you a wonderful weekend!

Ms. Iyer and Ms. Dauberman

Student Experience Survey

Our school will participate in the FCPS Student Experience Survey. This survey will gather important feedback from students about their school experiences to help FCPS make meaningful improvements.

All students in grades 3-6, except those who have opted out, will receive a link to the survey in their FCPS email on February 24. We will administer the survey during the school day between Monday, February 24, and Friday, March 7. Any student may take the survey at home, if they are unable to take the survey during the school day. You will receive a communication with details on how to preview the survey and opt your child out, if you choose.

We believe it's important to hear from our students about what we're doing well and where we can improve. This work also aligns with the five equity commitments in FCPS’ 2023-30 Strategic Plan, which focus on amplifying student voice and experiences as we work toward meeting plan goals.

Thank You PTA!

Thank you to PTA for providing our staff with coffee and donuts last Friday on Valentine's Day! It was such a fun treat and we were feeling the LOVE!
