Ms. Reidy and Ms. Guerrero lead Morning Meeting together in Ms. Guerrero's Grade 1 classroom. At Mount Eagle, teachers co-teach to provide supports to all students.
A Message from Ms. Kirkland
I'm so excited to share that this Saturday, Mount Eagle will be sending it's first group of students to represent our school at the Science Olympiad competition at Fairfax High School! These Grade 6 students have been studying and practicing after school for weeks, and we know that they will represent us well. We are so proud of them!
The last few weeks have been filled with weather and holidays. While we have enjoyed our recent snow days and holidays, we are ready for a return to consistent school routines. We are hoping for uninterrupted school weeks in these months ahead! Please continue to be our steadfast educational partners in sending your students to school on time daily. We need your help with supporting higher daily school attendance rates at Mount Eagle.
While we do know the winter season also aligns with cold and flu season, please know that students are able to attend school unless they have a fever, are vomiting or experiencing persistent tummy troubles. Our kids learn so much daily at school and we love when our entire school community is here together!
As always, thank you for your partnership.

Student Fasting Meal Kits for February 28 - March 28, 2025
The Virginia Department of Education (VDOE) has issued a new, first-time waiver allowing students fasting during the school day from February 28 to March 28, 2025, to request take-home breakfast and lunch meal kits. The Office of Food and Nutrition Services (FNS) will provide meal kits reflecting the school menu. Meals will be kept cold and must be heated at home. Students may claim one breakfast and one lunch kit per day. If a student purchases breakfast or lunch at school, they cannot pick up a kit that day. Meal kits must be picked up by students at the end of the school day—adults cannot collect them. Parents or guardians must submit a weekly request form via the FCPS FNS website by the deadlines:
-
February 24, 2025, for February 28 and the week of March 3, 2025
-
March 3, 2025, for the week of March 10, 2025
-
March 10, 2025, for the week of March 17, 2025
-
March 17, 2025, for the week of March 24, 2025
Forms must be submitted on time to receive meal kits for the following week.
